Cowboy poet, Baxter Black, will bring his left-handed brand of humor to Wilmington College on October 16, at 8 p.m., in Boyd Auditorium.
The event, which is free and open to the public, is the second program in WC’s 2002-2003 Issues & Artists Series.
Since 1982, Black has been rhyming his way into the national spotlight and now stands as the best-selling cowboy poet in the world. He’s written 12 books, including a rodeo novel, and recorded more than a dozen albums and videotapes.
The former veterinarian writes the most widely syndicated agricultural column in the United States, “On the Edge of Common Sense,” and his radio show, “Baxter Black on Monday,” is broadcast on more than 200 radio stations in North America. His books include Croutons on a Cow Pie and Hey Cowboy, Wanna Get Lucky?
Black’s philosophy is simple enough: in spite of all the computerized, digitized high-tech innovations, there will always be a need for someone who can “think stuff up.”
